So another season of London Fashion Week has come to an end and what fun I had.
For those who don't know, I am a manicurist at London Fashion Week and have been since 2015/16. I assist on nail teams with celebrity and session Manicurists as well as running my own team as Lead Nail Artist. Either way, I love being part of LFW, although I am not so much of a lover of the 3.30/4am alarms for a 6am call time in London.
It flies by so let me give you a break down this season....
I was working as a Manicurist on three shows this season for Edward Crutchley.
JW Anderson and the debut show for Yuzefi.
A clean, natural aesthetic was trending this season with 'clean Manicures seen everywhere'.
For Edward Crutchley, we used my favourites from Jessica Nails. This show was women's and men's wear. For the male models, we cleaned, filed, tidied cuticles, buffed and hydrated the nails using Hand and Body Moisturising Emulsion, Phenomen Oil and Brilliance (I use these in my Manicure treatments)
For the female models, the nail look was white or black French tip Manicures that had been hand painted on to press on nails.
For JW Anderson, again we kept nails clean, short and hydrated, using CND hand and nail care.
For Yuzefi, you guessed it we kept nails, clean, tidy and hydrated using BioSculpture Calcium Seaweed Base, Hand Cream and Blackcurrant cuticle oil.
So what happens pre show?
So call time is usually 3 hours before the show begins, during this time it is all systems go with hair, make up and nails.
The models will have a dress rehearsal as well as a full run through rehearsal, which we are able to watch which is always great seeing a show come to life.
Once the models have completed this, it literally is go go go!!! Before line up where we can complete any last minute finishing touches or touch ups.
Its great, chaotic, tiring fun!
